The Contest “Best Romanian Play of the Year 2008”
The Romanian Association of Theatre Artists – UNITER announces that the deadline for receiving plays for the 2008 edition of the Contest “Best Romanian Play of the Year 2008” is January 15, 2009 (as marked by the post).
The authors will send their typed plays in one copy, unsigned, with a short motto on the title page, accompanied by a sealed envelope containing the identification data of the author (name, address, phone number). The same motto from the title page of the play will appear on the envelope containing the identification data.
The mailing address for submitting the plays is: Str. George Enescu 2-4, 010305 Bucharest, with the mention “For the Contest Best Romanian Play of the Year 2008”. Plays may also be submitted directly at the UNITER Registrar’s office.
The competition will not accept short plays (one act), adaptations for the stage or plays that have already been published or staged. The texts submitted for the contest will not be returned.
The jury will announce the winning play in March 2009, and UNITEXT Publishing House will publish it in a volume which will be launched at the UNITER Awards Gala (April 2009), when the prize will also be awarded.
The contest, the prize and the publishing of the winning play are financed by the effort and under the aegis of the Royal House of Romania.
